New Delhi: India and Pakistan are looking forward to scale down tension along the border following increased incidents of ceasefire violation, Deputy National Security Advisor Nehchal Sandhu said on Monday.
Sandhu said it was recognised at the highest level of the government that the number of ceasefire violations have increased which prompted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take up the issue with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the margins of UN General Assembly in New York last month.
"The number of ceasefire violations has increased. The Prime Minister took it up at UNGA. Decision has been taken for the two militarise to cooperate and to determine how this can be scaled down. Decision has been taken to open link between DGMOs (Director General Military Operations)," he told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.
Sandhu was replying to a question on continuous ceasefire violation along the border in Jammu and Kashmir.
A BSF jawan was injured today when Pakistani troops fired upon BSF posts.
There were more than 120 incidents of ceasefire violations along the India-Pakistan border till last month, of which 20 took place in September alone.
