Khurshid asks those demanding Lokpal to be patient

Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid said a strong Lokpal Bill would be brought in the coming session of Parliament.

Amethi (UP): Union Law Minister Salman
Khurshid on Thursday said a strong Lokpal Bill would be brought in
the coming session of Parliament and advised those demanding
it to remain patient.
"Experts are working on the draft for a strong Lokpal
Bill...after looking at all aspects, it would be brought in
the coming session of Parliament," he told reporters here.

The Minister said judiciary and media would be kept out
of the ambit of the bill though all government officials would
be brought under its purview.

Without naming Anna Hazare, he said people should remain
patient as the bill would be introduced in the coming session.

On Sri Sri Ravi Shankar not visiting AICC general
secretary Rahul Gandhi`s constituency Amethi during his
ongoing anti-corruption yatra in Uttar Pradesh, Khurshid said
there was no political pressure on him to cancel his visit.
He, however, said, "Politics is a larger issue and should
be left to politicians."

The spiritual guru had recently said he could not visit
Amethi during his ongoing anti-corruption yatra as the Ashram
which had extended him invitation was pressurised not to call
him.

"I was invited by Sri Hari Ashram to visit Amethi during
my yatra but I had to change it (the plan) because my people
there were facing undue pressure from political parties and
they requested me not to come," Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had said.
