New Delhi, Feb 04: Dubbing Raj Thackeray as
"anti-national", Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on Monday demanded
that action be taken against him and his supporters for
targeting north Indians in Mumbai and trying to divide the
country.

At the same time, Prasad, who met Maharashtra Chief
Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh in Mumbai today, wanted people to
exercise restraint and not be provoked by "divisive elements".

The Railway Minister strongly condemned the attack on
Amitabh Bachchan's home after Raj Thackeray, who is leading
the breakaway Maharastra Navnirman Sena, questioned the star's
loyalties to Maharashtra.
Prasad also deprecated the attack on Samajwadi Party
workers holding a rally in Mumbai yesterday.

"The language used by Raj Thackeray and the action
resorted to by his supporters to divide the nation is clearly
anti-national", Prasad told agencies.

He said taxi drivers from Bihar and other states had
been mercilessly targeted for no fault of theirs. "No one is
bigger than the country".
Prasad asked the Chief Minister to initiate urgent
measures to restore the confidence of the people and ensure
their full protection.

Deshmukh promised that he will take immediate action,
Prasad said.

Prasad said no one has the right to violate the
fundamental rights of the people.
