Kolkata: The Left parties will provide
detailed information about their allegations, including
"partiality" shown by election observers, to the Election
Commission within a week.

CPI-M politburo member Biman Bose told reporters here
that the Election Commission had sought detailed information
from the Left parties about their allegations.

"The Left parties had submitted a memorandum to the Chief
Election Commissioner on January 21 containing allegations
like the partial action by election observers during their
recent visit to the state to assess law and order situation,"
Bose said.

Asked to comment on Chief Election Commissioner S Y
Quraishi`s observation that the situation in poll-bound West
Bengal was grave, Bose said, "There was no discussion in the
Left Front during the day about it."
