Lucknow: Congress on Sunday claimed that UP Chief
Minister Mayawati`s statements at a BSP rally reflected her
"Rahul phobia" even as opposition parties alleged blatant
misuse of official machinery for the party function.

"It was a government sponsored rally in which no
announcements were made about welfare of dalits and backwards.
The objective of the rally was just to show strength of BSP
government in which official machinery was misused blatantly",
SP spokesman Rajendra Chowdhury said.

Alleging that Mayawati was afraid of its shrinking
mass base, Chowdhruy said "this was the reason she was
making absurd statements".

Congress spokesman Akhilesh Pratap Singh said that
Mayawati had got an idea that her government would be uprooted
and her entire speech showed her fear.

"It seems that Mayawati has got Rahul phobia and it
showed in her speech in which she mentioned his name
repeatedly", Congress leader Dwijendra Tripathi said.

BJP state president Surya Pratap Shahi said that Mayawati
has "lost the trust of the people" as she did nothing for
their welfare in her tenure, which is going to end soon.
"The rally was an example of misue of official system," he
alleged.
