New Delhi: E Sreedharan, principal adviser to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), who once openly endorsed Narendra Modi, has dismissed speculations that he has been invited to join the incoming BJP led NDA government at the Centre.

Hailed as the `Metro man`, Sreedharan cleared the air while addressing a press conference in Kochi in connection with a Metro Rail project there on Monday.

However, Sreedharan said that he would accept the offer wholeheartedly if Modi offers him a berth in his Cabinet. He said that he was associated with Modi when he was in-charge of setting up the Metro coach factory in Vadodara.
"I have no untouchability feeling towards BJP. BJP had also sought my advice while preparing their election manifesto," Sreedharan said. "I haven`t got any formal offer from BJP to join the cabinet. So there is no point in wasting time discussing it," Sreedharan reacted to queries of the media.

Sreedharan had earlier showered praises on Modi at a function organized by the Japan Embassy to felicitate him for his contribution in "promoting friendly relationship with Japan and India through the Delhi Metro project" on March 8, 2014.
Sreedharan said that Modi had created a conducive environment for setting up a factory in Salvi in Vadodara in Gujarat for producing metro rail coaches at a record time of 18 months. He appreciated Modi for taking decisions very fast and hoped that he would hasten the decision making process in the country.

The 81-year-old is now working as the principal adviser to the Kochi Metro project.
