Jaipur: The National Commission for Women
on Wednesday expressed concern over low percentage of disposal of
rape cases in Rajasthan and sought support from NGOs to
improve the situation.
"Rape of women -- from three-year-old to elderly ladies
-- are taking place in Rajasthan. However, slow rate of
disposal of such cases is a matter of concern," NCW
Chairperson Girija Vyas said.
"Creating awareness among women is much needed in which
the role of NGOs, judiciary and police is very important. They
play key role in protecting the dignity of women," she said at
a seminar on domestic violence at Police Academy here.
