New Delhi: The National Investigating Agency (NIA) has issued alerts about suspected terror attacks in the national capital Delhi and the country`s economic capital Mumbai in the days to come, reports said on Friday.

The apex investigating agency has alerted the police force in Delhi and Mumbai and other agencies and asked them to remain more vigilant in view of the terror threats.
The NIA has reportedly written a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and apprised it of the fact that some terrorist organisations are preparing to attack key installations, buildings and monuments in the two big cities.

In its letter, the agency said that the militant outfit Indian Mujahideen (IM) has nefarious plans to target Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar, Anand Vihar among other areas in Delhi

The NIA also suggested that the IM has conducted recce of the prime targets in Delhi and Mumbai through its sleeper cell.
IM operatives held earlier by Delhi Police had disclosed that their outfit has been planning to carry out more attacks in various Indian cities. The IM even planned to create unrest during the Lok Sabha polls, however, the intelligence agencies thwarted its plan by cracking on its network.

The IM, which has close links with the al Qaeda, has been involved in several blasts in Delhi, Mumbai`s Zaveri Bazar, Hyderabad and other cities.
