New Delhi: Reacting to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi`s comment terming the ordinance on convicted lawmakers cleared by the Union Cabinet as `nonsense`, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said on Friday that "if the party leadership feels that there is a need for a second look, the party will tell the government to do that."

Talking in US, Khurshid said, "I must explain that I was not in the Cabinet, but I have to take responsibility for Cabinet decision. It was a collective decision," he said.

The External Minister added that while the ordinance has to go Parliament, all that it allows is stability in the system and "not only Congress but many political groups had felt" the need for it.
