Islamabad: A Pakistani woman has termed as "fabricated" an Indian media report saying her father had died while languishing in an Indian jail.

Raheela Wakeel, daughter of Rana Abdul Wakeel of Dhingranwali village in Punjab province, said the Interior Ministry had sent her a letter that said her father and seven other Pakistanis were still in an Indian jail and that the government was seeking their early release, The Nation daily reported on Saturday.

The report, however, did not mention the name of the Indian media outlet nor the prison in India where her father was reportedly lodged.

She said she had also appealed to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who reportedly asked her to visit India but that the Indian embassy was not issuing her a visa.
