A private complaint has been filed in the court here seeking criminal action against former Rajasthan Minister Amin Khan for his controversial remarks about President Pratibha Patil.

First Class Judicial Magistrate Tripti Pandey will take
up the complaint, filed by Omprakash Mishra, a private
security agency owner, for hearing on March 1.

Addressing Congress workers at Pali in Rajasthan on
February 8, Khan had made insulting remarks against Patil,
which lowered the dignity of the country`s highest post, Mohan
Singh Chandel, the complainant`s lawyer, said.

Mishra, in his application, has sought that criminal
defamation proceedings should be launched against Khan.

Chandel said that Rajasthan Chief Minister and Chief
Secretary too have been made respondents in the case.
Khan had said that Pratibha Patil had been rewarded for
her loyalty to Congress. After the remarks created a furore,
he had to resign as minister.
