Lucknow: Heaping praise on new BJP chief
Nitin Gadkari, former party president Rajnath Singh on Monday said
his successor is an able, energetic and dynamic person.
On his first visit to Uttar Pradesh after handing over
the baton to Gadkari, Singh said he was confident the new
party head would discharge his responsibilities successfully.
"Gadkari is a young, energetic, able and imaginative
person. I am confident he will fulfil all his responsibilities
successfully."
"Gadkari did commendable work as PWD Minister in
Maharashtra and as Union Surface Transport Minister. I used to
call him to Delhi for consultations," Singh said.
On BJP`s political prospects in Uttar Pradesh, he said
the state leadership was capable enough to re-vitalise its
unit.
To a question, he said "as far as my services are
concerned, I am ready to discharge any responsibility given to
me by the party High Command."
On Legislative Council elections in UP, the former party
president said reports about misuse of government machinery
did not augur well for democracy and the Election Commission
should take necessary measures in this regard.
