New Delhi: Congress President Sonia
Gandhi today said remaining a saint in today`s politics was a
most difficult task and highlighted the need for continued
existence of good people in politics.

"A number of people become proud soon after getting
any place in politics. But only those in politics get people`s
trust and love who keep on working politely," Gandhi said
while releasing a book "Rajniti ke sant" in memory of former
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shyama Charan Shukla here.

Recalling the contributions of the leader, she said he
had discharged the responsibilities in his public life with
full seriousness and dignity and took several steps for the
development of Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh.

"Shyamacharan ji was one of the leaders of the old
generation who remained firm on ideology," she said.
Hailing the former CM, Gandhi said he had never made any
compromise which hurt his respect or that of the party.
