New Delhi: Attacking the BJP for the
statement made by Sushma Swaraj on the age of Leader of the
House in Lok Sabha Pranab Mukherjee, Congress today said it is
in "bad taste" if somebody has made such "cheap" remark.

"It is in a very bad taste if anybody has made any
such remark," AICC spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi told
reporters when asked to comment on Swaraj`s remark.

Swaraj had said the effect of age was showing on him
(Mukherjee) and he seemed to be suffering from blood pressure.

"People, who are in government are expected to have
more patience," she had added when asked about Mukherjee
losing his cool in the Rajya Sabha during a discussion on
price rise today.

Taking a jab at the main Opposition, Singhvi advised
the BJP not to talk about age, saying, "we all know who is of
what age in that party."

Earlier in the day Mukherjee, who was replying to a
supplementary by Sitaram Yechury (CPI-M) in Question Hour,
lost his cool when Brinda Karat intervened and sought to know
what the government was doing to provide sugar.

He asked her to show her temper outside the House and
conveyed his strong displeasure over Karat interrupting him
and said she should not do so when it was not even her
question.

Even as some Left members stood up, a visibly angry
Mukherjee took his seat for a while.

Singhvi however downplayed the matter saying," he
(Mukherjee) is an experienced Parliamentarian. There could be
a difference of opinion."
