RSS planned AMU attacks?

A former RSS pracharak has made sensational claims about a planned conspiracy to murder Justice UC Banerjee and a designed AMU blast.

New Delhi: A former RSS pracharak who is spending his time in Central Prison of Dewas of Madhya Pradesh, has made sensational claims about a planned conspiracy to murder Justice UC Banerjee and a designed AMU blast. He also made revelations about Sunil Joshi’s murder.

Zeenews has an exclusive access to the statement made by Shivam Dhakad, who was once as a close associate Late Sunil Joshi. Dhakad was working as an RSS vistarak from 2003. He was arrested by Ujjain Police in September 2010.

In his statement, Dhakad said that on October 15, 2005, he was taken to Kolkata by Sunil Joshi. “We stayed in RSS karyalay for one night….After returning from Kolkata, I came to know from Sunil Joshi that the purpose of the visit was to kill Justice UC Banerjee, who was heading the Godhra Commission. Dhakad also revealed that they had conducted recce of Justice UC Banerjee’s house and its surroundings.
Dhakad disclosed further in his statement that a secret meeting was held on October 26, 2005 in a Gujrati Dharmashala in Jaipur. Indresh Kumar, Sunil Joshi, Ramji, Rajinder Pehlwan and Lokesh Sharma, Pragya Singh along with Dhakad attended the meeting. It was during this meeting that the plan to kill Justice UC Banerjee was discussed.

“RSS does not agree to your ideology and won’t give support to such activities. You better link yourself to some other organisation and get the work done”, Dhakad quoting senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar as saying. Dhakad also said that after Indresh Kumar’s departure, Sunil Joshi had assigned the task to Pragya Singh.

“Ramji and Lokesh Sharma were given the job of collecting arms and ammunitions and Sunil Joshi himself took the responsibility of coordination and finance,” the former RSS pracharak revealed.
He further disclosed that he had attended training for bomb making given by Ramji on January 4, 2006. “Ramji also gave a demonstration on how to stage a bomb blast.”

The former RSS pracharak said that he along with someone named Kamal had visited Alligarh Muslim University, ahead of the convocation of the varsity as directed by Sunil Joshi. “The visit was meant to explore the possibilities of establishing our branches among Hindu students and faculty members….Later, I came to know that the actual purpose of the visit was to conduct recce of AMU because Joshi had plans to kill the Muslim chief guest at the convocation,” he revealed.

Dhakad has also disclosed that he came to know from one Amit -- whom the late Joshi had introduced to him -- that Sunil Joshi might have got killed by Lokesh Sharma. “Sharma and Joshi had heated arguments on some money matters,” Dhakad said quoting Amit.

The former RSS pracharak said it was during his April 2006 Faridabad visit with Sunil Joshi that he met Ashok Kumar, a local RSS leader. “They took us to a firing range where we practiced firing….We were guided by some persons wearing Army-like uniform.”

In his statement, Dhakad revealed that someone named Amit told his fried Mahesh Dhakad that his friend Sadar and one another fellow died in Nanded blast while making bomb at Sadar’s house. The same information was verified by Sunil Joshi, he said.
