Jalna (Maha): Shiv Sena on Wednesday indicated
that it would support BJP leader L K Advani`s proposed yatra
against corruption.
Senior leader Manohar Joshi said the party, BJP`s ally
for over two decades, was in support of the anti-graft yatra
but a final decision would be taken only by Sena Executive
President Uddhav Thackeray.
Addressing a press meet here in central Maharashtra,
the former Chief Minister sought to downplay Anna Hazare`s
criticism of the yatra, saying it was his personal views.
The Gandhian has described Advani`s proposed campaign
as a "gimmick".
Joshi pointed out that the Sena had supported Hazare`s
movement against corruption and his Jan Lokpal Bill.
The former Lok Sabha Speaker was here to unveil a
statue of legendary social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule at
Jalna Municipal Council (JMC).
