Utsav Sharma`s bail plea to be heard on 9th Feb
Ghaziabad: The bail application of Utsav
Sharma, who had attacked and injured murdered teenager
Aarushi`s father Rajesh Talwar, will be heard on 9th February in a
local court in Ghaziabad.
A district and sessions judge will hear the bail plea
of 30-year-old Sharma, who has been charged with attempt to
murder, his advocate SP Chaudhry said, adding that the
application was earlier rejected by a magistrate court.
Sharma has been booked under IPC section 307, which
can be tried only in a session court, Chaudhary said.
In February last year, Sharma had attacked former Haryana DGP
SPS Rathore, convicted in the Ruchika molestation case,
outside a Panchkula court.
Utsav attacked 54-year-old Talwar on January 25 with a
cleaver causing deep cuts on his face and hands in the court
premises.
Sharma is under medical treatment for mental disorder
in the jail hospital. He is a graduate from the prestigious
National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad.
