New Delhi: In a patriotic crusade over the popular social network site Facebook, over 20,000 people have been pitching for the Tricolour to be added to a popular web game, according to media reports.

According to reports published in BBC website, many users now want the Indian flag to be added to the popular game Farmville, which allows users to develop and manage a farm online. The report claimed that the users have been lobbying with the San Franciso-based developers Zynga for the same.

If allowed, the Farmville players can personalise their farms by marking their territory with Tricolour – which is now enjoyed by users of a handful countries.

“More than three million Facebook users live in India and there are many more Farmville players of Indian-origin who have backed the cause. The topic was also discussed on blogs and forums,” the BBC reported.

Facebook has over 35 million users worldwide with a significant chunk living in India.
