LinkedIn launches Japanese language version

LinkedIn Corp has launched its Japanese language version, marking the rapidly growing professional networking service`s first Asian language platform as it pushes to expand in the region.

Tokyo: LinkedIn Corp has launched its Japanese language version, marking the rapidly growing professional networking service`s first Asian language platform as it pushes to expand in the region.

The Mountain View, California-based company has also established a Tokyo office, following the opening of its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore in May.

Arvin Rajand, head of LinkedIn`s Asia operations, says Japan is a key market for the company because of the "incredibly talented and technologically sophisticated Japanese workforce."

LinkedIn says it has about 120 million members worldwide, with 20 million in the Asia-Pacific. Rajand says the region offers "tremendous opportunities for growth."
The service is now available in 10 languages. Rajand says more languages are on the way.
