New Delhi: Online dating service Tinder has recently launched a new feature called Tinder Social, globally as well as in India.
This newly-launched feature will enable users to meet new people, create groups and plan activities together.
"Tinder Social is designed to make it as easy as possible to plan your night, get out into the real world and meet new people. The new feature takes the Tinder experience to a new level, offering our users more ways to expand their social circles and interact with potential matches," said Sean Rad, CEO and co-founder of Tinder, in a statement.
After updating the app, Tinder users can unlock Tinder Social to gain access to the feature.
To get started, users can create a group by selecting friends who have also chosen to opt-in.
Once a group is formed, members can assign a status to their group, choosing from a variety of suggested activities like "Going to a concert tonight," "Girl’s night out,” “Comedy Night,” “Sunday Funday” or “Happy Hour, anyone?”.
“We’re excited to bring Tinder Social to India. This feature offers a simple, fun way for our users to continue seeking new experiences and forging meaningful connections,” added Taru Kapoor, Head, Tinder India.
Users can only belong to one group at a time and any member in the group can add a group status that is visible to everyone in the group.
Those who prefer not to be added to groups can opt out of Tinder Social through their settings and will not appear on their friends' lists.
