Guwahati: The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) on Monday made a fresh demand for resignation of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore development fund scandal of North Cachar Autonomous Council.
"The CAG report has directly indicted the government and Gogoi should owe moral responsibility and quit," AGP president Chandra Mohan Patowary told reporters at the sidelines of a function to launch the party`s website here.
"The opposition plans to stage a dharna in front of parliament very soon to press the demand and if possible have separate appointments with the president, prime minister and union home minister," he said.
"There is serious difference of opinion among the state Congress party itself on the issue which has surfaced time and again," Patowary claimed.
On the launching of the website, the party president said it will help the people, particularly the youth, to have more information about the AGP.
