Five minor girls rescued from train in Assam

Five minor girls were rescued from a train in Assam`s Chirang district Monday while being trafficked, police said.

Kajalgaon: Five minor girls were rescued from a train in Assam`s Chirang district Monday while being trafficked, police said.
The girls, aged between 12 years and 14 years, belonged to very poor families of Baksa district and were lured with job offers in Gujarat, police said.

Chirang district police along with Railway Police Force rescued the girls from the Lumding-Alipurduar Intercity Express (Down) at Bijni station, they said.
Two youths, who were accompanying the girls fled when the police arrived at the scene, they said.
