Guwahati: National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed chargesheets against 16 persons in connection with the multi-crore rupees scam in Assam`s North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council on Tuesday.
The NIA chargesheet submitted to the chief judicial magistrate, Kamrup court here included the names of the district council leader Mohit Hojai and insurgent outfit
DHD(J) chief Jewel Garlosa.
The other accused are Jibanshu Paul, Golon Daolagapu, RH Khan, Karuna Saikia, Partho Warisa, Samir Ahmed, Joseph Mizo, Malsawm Kimi, George Lumchang, Niranjan Hojai, Jayanta Ghosh, Debashish Banerjee, Sandip Ghosh and Phojendra Hojai.
Some of the accused persons, including Mohit Hojai and Dima Halam Daogah(J) leader Jewel Garlosa were produced before the court during the day.
The chargesheet is on the second case on fund diversion involving crores of rupees from 21 government departments. The first chargesheet filed early this year was on
militant-politician nexus.
