Orissa Congress MLA held on murder charge

A Orissa Congress MLA Ramesh Jena, who allegedly hired two assassins to kill a gangster, was remanded to judicial custody on Friday after being arrested from Visakhanapatna in Andhra Pradesh.

arrested from Visakhanapatna in Andhra Pradesh.
A police team from here nabbed the legislator, who
represents Sanakhemundi constituency in Ganjam district, from
Visakhapatnam yesterday, they said.
Jena was wanted in connection with the killing of
gangster Rabi on January 1 here.

The hunt for the legislator began after the main
accused, a father-son duo, Susanta Bisoi and Siba Bisoi,
arrested from Bangalore claimed that Jena had hired them to
eliminate Rabi.

Meanwhile, in protest against his arrest, his
supporters called an impromptu bandh here and at Sanakhemundi
affecting normal life.
