Orissa to give specialised technical coaching to tribals students

The Orissa government today decided to provide specialised technical coaching to 100 selected tribal boys and girls every year.

Bhubaneswar: The Orissa government today
decided to provide specialised technical coaching to 100
selected tribal boys and girls every year.

This decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief
Minister Naveen Patnaik here for development of tribal youths,
particularly students.

"The state government will soon sign an MoU with a
reputed coaching institute to prepare tribal students to
become IIT, NIT engineers and medicos," a senior official of
the scheduled tribe and schedule caste development department
said.

The state government would bear entire cost of
coaching, food and board, he said.

Though a number of tribal students so far have
excelled they failed to progress due to lack of proper
coaching, the official said.

The government also decided to set up hostels in
selected urban pockets so that tribal students could be
exposed to outside world.

"The state will ensure that tribal students can enroll
in reputed public schools, central schools and other
institutions," he said.
