PM Modi greets people on Odisha Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted the people of Odisha on the occasion of Utkal Divas, the foundation day of the state.

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted the people of Odisha on the occasion of Utkal Divas, the foundation day of the state.

 "My best wishes to the people of Odisha on the occasion of Utkala Dibasa. Odisha is a beautiful state with rich culture. It is endowed with mineral resources and rich heritage," Modi said in a message.

 Stating that he was delighted to have been in Odisha on Utkala Dibasa, Modi said "I believe that Odisha will reach the pinnacle of progress and and become a partner in the country's development.

 The PM was in Rourkela, his first visit to the state since assuming office, and dedicated to the nation the modernisation and expansion work completed at Rourkela Steel Plant at an investment of Rs 12,000 crore.

 The state came into being on April 1, 1936.
