Rourkela, Orissa: Vigilance sleuths arrested a revenue inspector when he was allegedly accepting a bribe from a farmer for issuing a certificate at Bandhpali in Sundargarh district.
Vigilance sources said the inspector Jageswar Kalo was caught redhanded in his office premises by the officials yesterday while `accepting` a bribe of Rs 3000 from a farmer
for issuing a verification report of his land holding.
Investigations revealed Kalo had initially asked Rs. 5000 from one Dhama Oram for issuing verification report of his 57 decimal land and finally scaled down the figure to Rs 3,000.
He was later produced before the vigilance court at Sambalpur and remanded to jail custody.
