Helicopter crashes in Chandigarh airport, pilot injured

A helicopter crashed at the Chadigarh airport immediately after taking off Thursday morning.

Chandigarh: A Pawan Hans helicopter crashed at the airport here immediately after taking off Thursday morning. The pilot was injured.

The pilot, who was flying alone, was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32.
Airport officials said the helicopter caught fire just after it took off from the airport. It crashed inside the airport itself.
Fire engines rushed to douse the fire. The helicopter was on lease with the Punjab government.
