Moga: A judicial panel constituted by the
Punjab and Haryana High Court in March 2009 to inquire into
the alleged misuse of Red Cross funds in the state by district
administrations, arrived here.
The panel consisting of two former judges of the High
Court held a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner Satwant
Singh Johal.
It also inspected the records of district Red Cross
society.
The panel was directed by the High Court to probe into
the alleged misutilisation of the Red Cross funds and to put
the working of the agency on proper track with recommendations
for improving and streamlining the financial and
administrative affairs of the Red Cross.
The probe team is currently touring various districts to
make on the spot study of the working of all the district Red
Cross societies.
