Light showers in Punjab, Haryana

Chandigarh: Many places in Punjab and Haryana
Saturday received light showers bringing respite to people from heatwave condition.

Chandigarh witnessed a rainfall of 0.5 mm, bringing the
maximum temperature down to 38.2 degree celsius, Met office
said.

The maximum temperature at Amritsar settled at 38.2 C,
three degrees below normal.

Ludhiana and Patiala recorded a maximum of 38.2 C and
39.6 C respectively.

Hisar in Haryana witnessed a rainfall of 1.4 mm with day
temperature staying at 39.6 C.

Rain and thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated
places in Haryana and Punjab tomorrow, the Met office said,
adding the day temperatures are expected to increase by 2 to 3 degrees in the region.
