Pathankot: Heavy rains in neighbouring
Jammu and Kashmir today flooded Ravi and Ujh rivers that
converge in Punjab`s Gurdaspur district inundating a dozen
more villages in the state which is already battling floods.
However, there were no casualties, official sources said.
Water flowing at the convergence of Ravi and Ujh in
Punjab was 2 lakh cusecs, they said, adding that besides these
two rivers Tarna, Jalalia, Sangrawan, Khuni Nullah were also
flooded.
Pathankot SDM Sukhmander Singh said affected people in the
border villages were being evacuated with the help of BSF to
safer places.
