Chandigarh: Panjab University (PU) Chandigarh, which is among the leading educational institution in the country, has put the students of a particular course under confusion. The publicity department of the university made an error about results of particular programme, which put the students in quandary.

Vineet Punia, the Director of Public Relations of Panjab University, had issued a communication mentioning that the results for the entrance test conducted for admissions to the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programmes have been declared by the university. However, few hours after releaseing that notification, the Director of Public Relations said that the "Press Release was sent by mistake."

He added in the statement that, "The press release regarding the results of entrance test (M.Phil 2015 and Ph.D 2015) stands withdrawn," after the candidates began searching for the results, their ranks and scores online, at the official website.

On being contacted, the Director of Public Relations said that,"I was told by university authorities that the result is out but later I was informed it will take another two days for results to come out." Earlier, Punia had issued a statement which mentioned that Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has declared the results for admissions to M.Phil and Ph.D courses for the session of 2015. The notification clearly stated that, "The candidates for M.Phil/Ph.D. Programme of Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh can check their results on PU website: www.puchd.ac.in."
