Ludhiana: Punjab Youth Congress activists
on Sunday launched an indefinite hunger strike here against the
growing menace of drugs in the state.

The State Youth Congress President Ravneet Singh Bittu
is leading the group of youth activists who started the hunger
strike.

Bittu, who is Congress MP from Anandpur Sahib

formulate a policy to help make the state drug-free.

Talking to reporters here, he demanded immediate
formation of drug prevention board to be headed by retired
judge from Punjab and Haryana High Court, which should lay
down stringent laws for the drug peddlers.

"Everyday around 50 youth members of the youth Congress
will sit on the hunger strike and then they will be replaced
by the next 50, while I will sit continuously till Punjab
government commits to give a time frame on formation of the
board," Bittu said.
