Woman dies after jumping from hotel's third floor in Punjab

Pathankot: A 26-year-old woman died after she allegedly jumped from third floor of a hotel here, police said today.

 Some passersby saw the woman fall yesterday and informed the police, who reached the spot and shifted the woman to local Civil hospital here, police said.

 She was declared brought dead, they said.

 Police said the deceased had checked into the hotel with a man about three days back.

 Police said on the complaint of the woman's brother, the man has been booked under IPC section 306 (abetment of suicide).

The accused is absconding and further investigations are under progress, police said.
