After a week long spell of hot and humid weather, Delhiites enjoyed a rainy morning on Tuesday at some locations with the minimum temperature settling at 28.8 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season`s average, the weather office said.

New Delhi: After a week long spell of hot and humid weather, Delhiites enjoyed a rainy morning on Tuesday at some locations with the minimum temperature settling at 28.8 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season`s average, the weather office said.

"There would be generally cloudy sky in the day. Light rain or thundershower is likely to occur at several places towards the afternoon or evening," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The official said that 1.6 mm rain was spotted at Safdarjung observatory while 8.8 mm rain was recorded at the Ridge observatory.

The humidity level at 8.30 a.m. was recorded at 92 per cent.

According to the weather office, the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 34 degrees Celsius.

Monday's maximum temperature settled at 34.8 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season`s average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 28.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season`s average.
