New Delhi: Army chief Gen Bikram Singh on Monday reviewed the operational preparedness of the Jaipur-based South Western Army Command during a one-day visit there.
"Gen Singh was briefed on the operational preparedness of the formation by the South Western Army Commander Lt Gen Arun Kumar Sahni," an Army release said.

Gen Singh also interacted with senior functionaries of South Western Command and addressed officers on "issues facing the Army and collective efforts taken to achieve well drawn out key area results".

The visit comes soon after the South Western Army held a wargame involving its elite Mathura-based 2 Strike Corps in the deserts of Rajasthan along the border with Pakistan.
