Jaipur: Nine killed, 17 injured in mishaps

Nine persons, including a woman, were killed and 17 others injured in two separate road accidents in Rajasthan.

Bikaner/Jaipur: Nine persons, including a woman, were killed and 17 others injured in two separate road accidents in Rajasthan on Thursday.

Two jeeps collided head on near Mehrana village under Lunkaransar police station in Bikaner in which six persons were killed and 14 injured.

Vehicular movement was affected on Bikaner-SriGanganagar for some time due to the incident.

The deceased included one woman, police said, adding, the injured were hospitalised in Lunkaransar town and Bikaner city.

In Jaipur, three men were killed and as many injured when a truck rammed into another near Daulatpura area.

Kanaram Khateek (35) was changing a tyre of the stationary truck when it was hit this morning, police said.

While Khateek was crushed to death, Ratan Kumar (43) and Sanjay (20), who were sitting in the truck at the time, were also killed.

Resham Pal (36), Harjinder (18) and Ashok (30) sustained injuries and have been admitted to a hospital, they added.
