The Rajasthan government today categorically denied any starvation death in Chittorgarh district as reported by the local media a few days ago.

district as reported by the local media a few days ago.

The 45-year-old man had succumbed to the ailment he was
afflicted with and did not die due to hunger, the government
said in a release.

"Kishan Singh died due to sickness and not of starvation
as per investigations done by the district administration," it
said.

"The Chittorgarh District Collector visited the village
and a committee probed the alleged incident, but nothing with
regard to starvation came to light," the release said.

Local media reports said a man middle-aged man had died
of hunger in Champakehra village in Chittorgarh district last
month.
