New Delhi: There is a meme of sorts doing the rounds since the last couple of years, that says, Ï won't believe in technology until I can download food”.

Well, whoever created that meme, would probably be the happiest person in the world after this news came out. It seems, we may be able to do that soon after all!

Yes, you heard that right! According to a report in the Times of India, come 2116, downloading food, super skyscrapers, underwater cities, 3D printed homes and more, will be a reality!

This interesting piece of information comes from the SmartThings Future Living Report, which was commissioned by Samsung-owned internet of things firm SmartThings and was created by a group of academics and futurologists.

Times of India has further reported that the above academics have gone on record, saying that 'bubble cities' will be created underwater making the depths habitable for humans. They also believe personal drones will become a staple mode of transport, as well as being used as futuristic "mules" to carry entire homes around the world for holidays.

TOI also quoted SmartThings UK managing director James Monighan saying that, “The smartphone revolution is already ushering in the smart home revolution, which will have massively positive implications on how we live. Our homes are becoming smarter and can now detect the presence of things like people, pets, smoke, humidity, lighting and moisture. And this is just the beginning.”

With all this suggested to happen in the future, one hopes that colonization of the moon and Mars is not so far away either!
