Peshawar: At least eight militants were killed and several others wounded when Pakistan security forces attacked insurgent hideouts in the Kurram tribal region on Thursday.
Three militant hideouts were also destroyed as security forces bombarded the Chinarak area in Hangu, The Express Tribune reports.
Heavy cache of arms and ammunitions were also recovered during the search operations conducted in Central Kurram.
The Pakistani military had earlier launched an operation in the tribal region and had managed to drive militants out of most areas in Central Kurram.
However, militants continue to operate in areas surrounding central Kurram and in lower Kurram.
