Bomb in toy kills 10-year-old boy in Pakistan

A 10-year-old Afghan refugee boy was killed and four others injured on Thursday when an explosive apparently hidden inside a toy detonated in this northwestern Pakistani city.

Peshawar: A 10-year-old Afghan refugee boy was killed and four others injured on Thursday when an explosive apparently hidden inside a toy detonated in this northwestern Pakistani city.

The incident took place in village Khaki, a suburban area of Mansehra district, where many Afghan refugees are settled.

"Around six children were playing with a toy that they had found from the garbage they collected from nearby areas when it exploded, killing the boy and wounding four other children," senior police official Khurram Rasheed said.
Another local police official Saeedullah confirmed the incident and said the boy who was killed in the blast was Afghan.
