Car blast in Pak`s capital; no casualties

A blast occurred in a car parked near a market in the heart of the Pakistani capital on Wednesday though there were no casualties, police said.

on Wednesday though there were no casualties, police said.

The car was in a parking lot near the Jinnah Super
market in Sector F-7, one of the busiest commercial areas in
the city.
A petrol pump, a mosque and a girls` college are
located in the vicinity of the parking lot. The blast, which
occurred at about 10.30 pm, damaged the car.

Police cordoned off the area and collected evidence.

Ambulances and rescue teams rushed to the area. The
nature of the explosion could not immediately be ascertained.

Witnesses told the media that they had seen a man
leaving the parking lot in another car shortly before the
blast.
