Kabul: A tribunal set up by Afghanistan`s Supreme Court has called for a one-month delay in the opening of the parliamentary session to further investigate charges of electoral fraud.
The head of the five-judge tribunal, Sedaqalluh Haqiq, says it was not able to adequately investigate the charges in the few weeks allotted. He told reporters Wednesday that the inauguration planned for Jan. 23 should be delayed one month.
The date for the opening session of parliament is set by the Afghan President.
