Peshawar: The Governor of Pakistan`s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday said the involvement of foreign elements in the wave of militancy in Pakistan cannot be ruled out because insurgency on such a scale requires huge resources which Taliban do not possess.
Talking to newsmen here after the funeral of six soldiers who died in the restive Orakzai Agency, Governor Owais Ahmad Ghani said the resources used by militants in Pakistan clearly reflect the "involvement of a foreign hand".
The government is well aware of this fact and has taken up the issue at appropriate forums, he said.
The sacrifices of the armed forces and civilians will not go waste and Pakistan will win the war against terrorism, he contended.
The government has achieved remarkable success in the fight against militants in the tribal area, where the troops are fighting with hardcore militants, he said.
Ghani claimed that the areas in the lower part of Orakzai Agency had been purged of militants and the internally displaced people too have returned while the fight against the rebels is continuing in the upper parts of the region.
