Former Pak airforce official to be hanged for involvement in 2003 attack on Pervez Musharraf

 A former Pakistan Air Force (PAF) official, convicted for an assassination attempt on then president Pervez Musharraf in 2003, is to be executed in Rawalpindi`s Adiala jail, a media report said Monday.

Islamabad: A former Pakistan Air Force (PAF) official, convicted for an assassination attempt on then president Pervez Musharraf in 2003, is to be executed in Rawalpindi`s Adiala jail, a media report said Monday.

Khalid Mehmood, who was associated with PAF as a technician, was awarded death sentence, for being involved in the attack on Musharraf in Rawalpindi Dec 14, 2003, Dawn reported. 

No specific date for the hanging was mentioned in the media report.

Mehmood was shifted to Adiala Jail in October, 2010.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lifted the moratorium on death penalty last Wednesday after terrorists killed 132 children at an army-run school in Peshawar.
