Islamabad: Pakistani cricketer-turned- politician Imran Khan on Friday asked the government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, ruled by his own party, to investigate certain ministers for corruption and take action against them.
"Imran Khan today stated that it had come to his attention that some ministers in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa are indulging in corruption," said a statement from the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf party.
"Khan has demanded the Chief Minister immediately investigate and take action against these ministers."
The Tehrik-e-Insaf chief noted that his party was given a mandate for two main commitments - bringing peace to the country, especially Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and stamping out corruption.
He said there could be absolutely no compromise on these issues.
