Peshawar: Mortar shells apparently fired by
security forces in Afghanistan landed in Pakistan`s
northwestern tribal region today though there were no reports
of casualties, officials said.
Officials said three mortar shells hit Ghulam Ali town in
the restive North Waziristan Agency.
The shells were apparently fired by US and allied forces
hunting Taliban militants in Afghanistan.
A flag meeting of Pakistani, Afghan and NATO officials
was held yesterday to review the situation along the border
after Islamabad lodged a strong protest with NATO forces over
an incident in which shells fired from Afghanistan killed a
Pakistani soldier and wounded three more.
