Nepal`s national news agency marks 50th anniversary

Nepal`s only news agency Rashtriya Samachar Samiti observed its 50th anniversary amid a function in the presence of President Ram Baran Yadav.

Rashtriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) today observed its 50th
anniversary amid a function in the presence of President
Ram Baran Yadav.

The anniversary of the RSS also coincides with the
National Democracy Day of Nepal.

Yadav on the occasion hailed the important role
played by RSS in consolidating new democracy by disseminating
news from the remote areas of the country thereby unifying the
people from the plains, hilly region.

He also urged the national news agency to make its
service more effective by adopting latest information
technology available in the world.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bharat
Mohan Adhikary on the occasion said that the government is
committed to drafting a new constitution and completing the
peace process by forging cooperation and collaboration of all
sides.

He called on all political parties including
UCPN-Maoist, CPN-UML and Madhesi parties to take part in the
government and assist in its task of rescuing the country from
the political transition and build foundation of a new Nepal.
Establish in 1961 with limited resources RSS now has
network in all 75 districts of the country.
