Nine Afghan school children killed in suicide blast

Kabul: An unidentified motorcycle-borne man detonated his explosives in a market in eastern Afghanistan`s Samkani district, killing nine school children and one cop, say officials.

According to the BBC, the target of the suicide attack was a military patrol and some coalition soldiers were among those injured.

But the school kids fell prey to the suicide attack as at that time a local school was allowing the children out for lunch.
The security situation in Afghanistan has been talked about much as foreign troops prepare to leave the country by the end of this year.
