No change in policy on Kashmir dispute: Pak

Pakistan said there was no change in its stand on the Kashmir dispute.

Islamabad: Pakistan on Monday said there was no
change in its stand on the Kashmir dispute and dismissed a
media report that it could temporarily set aside the issue.

Reacting to a report published in the Indian media that
said Pakistan may "junk the Kashmir issue temporarily",
Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit said such reports were
"misleading and far-fetched".

There is no change in Pakistan`s "principled position on
the Jammu and Kashmir dispute", Basit contended.

The government and the people of Pakistan "strongly
believed that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute should be resolved
in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and the
aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir", he said.

Pakistan will continue extending "moral, political
and diplomatic support" to the Kashmiri people in their
"legitimate struggle for right to self-determination", he
said.
